New Patients
What your first visit looks like
Walking into a new office is easier when you know exactly what’s coming. Here’s how a first visit to Alter Chiropractic actually goes, start to finish — most new patients are in and out in 30–45 minutes.
- 1
Check-in (5 minutes)
Come in, say hi to the front desk, and finish any remaining paperwork. If you completed your intake ahead of time, this step is basically a handshake. Running late or lost? Call (561) 819-2224 — we’ll talk you in.
- 2
Consultation (10 minutes)
You and your chiropractor sit down and talk — what hurts, when it started, what makes it better or worse, and what you want to get back to doing. No table, no pressure, just a conversation.
- 3
Examination (10–15 minutes)
A focused physical exam: posture, range of motion, orthopedic and neurological checks for the areas involved. If imaging is needed to treat you safely, we’ll explain why before anything is ordered — most patients don’t need it.
- 4
Report of findings & first treatment
Your chiropractor explains what we found in plain language: what’s going on, whether chiropractic care is the right fit, and what your plan would look like. When it’s clinically appropriate, your first adjustment happens the same day — always explained before it happens. If we’re not the right provider for your situation, we’ll say so and point you to who is.
- 5
Checkout (5 minutes)
Schedule your next visit, square away any insurance or payment questions with the front desk, and head out with your take-home instructions. That’s it.
What to bring
- Photo ID and insurance card (if you have one)
- Recent imaging or reports related to your problem
- A list of medications and relevant medical history
- Comfortable clothes you can move in — you won’t need to change
One more tip: arrive about ten minutes early (or do your intake online ahead of time) and the whole visit stays on schedule. Questions before you book? Call (561) 819-2224 — a real person at our Delray Beach front desk picks up.
